Tomorrow’s goals
My four goals for tomorrow…
1) As I mentioned before, I am training to complete my first marathon so tomorrow I am back at my marathon training. Tomorrow is a 10 miler, which I hope to complete in under 1 hr. 30 min.
2) I will call the VIHA Social Worker to see about work/volunteer opportunities.
3) I will call Rogers and Shaw re: some billing “issues” I have….
4) I will set up a complete budget on mint.ca (and add my loan accounts).
5) Yes, I know…I said four goals/day but I haven’t gotten as much done on the other days as expected and there’s no reason why I can’t another goal done today… so, number five is to begin my $$ timeline for my bankruptcy discharge application.

Review of yesterday’s/today’s goals
With coming off of nights, it’s a little confusing as to what “day” it is, as you basically lose a day but here it goes….my goals for yesterday/today:
1) as crazy as it sounds, I have a field hockey game that I need to meet my team for at 9:30 am (so, that means MAYBE a one hour nap before) and then we drive an hour to the game… so my goal for the game is simply to enjoy myself. I will focus on being patient with the ball and not being afraid to possess the ball. I will play with the mentality I had in high school - that I am a great player who is hard to beat and I just play because it’s fun! - SUCCESS!! Not only did I have fun and focus more on just enjoying the game (which is always easier when you’re way over-tired!), I also ended up scoring two goals! I really need to remember to just play for fun because whenever I do, I am most relaxed, creative, confident, and the results definitely show.
2) I will set up a budget and add all my accounts on to my new mint.com financial planner - that thing is amazing! - FAIL. Ok, to anyone that has ever worked shift work, coming off of nights is BRUTAL!!! I was up for 25 hours straight and felt drunk with sleepiness by the time I accidentally dozed off around 4:30 pm until about 8pm and then slept again from 12-2:30 an then couldn’t sleep again until about 7:30 am and then didn’t get up for good until about 8:30 pm. argh! So tonight I need to go to bed by around 3 am, so I can get up earlier and try turning myself around…GOOD TIMES!;)
3) I will read at least two chapters of my book (“The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest”). - FAIL! see # 2
4) I will go to bed by 12 am (so, I have to try not to nap after my game!:)). - PASS?? I was in bed before midnight but wasn’t able to stay asleep. Damn shift work.
Two things that I’m proud of:
1) I’m proud of myself for scoring two goals, after focusing more on enjoying myself, as opposed to putting so much pressure on scoring goals! I think that’s a goo example that in order to accomplish goals, you need to focus on the process, as opposed to the end result!
2) I’ve been trying to avoid spending money, as of late and I am proud of myself for not doing any window shopping or daydreaming of things I want. I know that most of the things I “want” are more a consequence of being bored and lonely, so I need to keep my min busy with productive and less expensive things, which I have been able to do for the last week or so.
Two things that I am thankful for:
1) My friends. It’s very simple - I have some of the best and most loyal, genuine, and sincere friends and I am very lucky to have them in my life:)
2) I am thankful for the fact that I grew up in a world where I saw and believed that endless opportunities exist for me. When I think of third world countries and countries where women are so severely repressed, I can’t help be feel relieved that I never knew that kind of oppression.
